Joel Whitburn began collecting records as a teenager in the 1950s. As his collection grew, he began to sort, categorise and file each record according to the highest position it reached on Billboard magazine's charts. He went on to publish this information - first on individual artists' cards, then in book form in 1970 - and a business was born. Today, Joel leads a team of researchers who delve into all of Billboard's music charts to an unmatched degree of depth and detail. Widely recognised as the most authoritative historian on charted music, Joel has also collaborated with Warner/Rhino Records in creating a series of 150 CD albums, plus five CD albums with Curb Records.

Good Chart Catalog

The seventh edition of Joel Whitburn's Top Pop Albums is an excellent source for the Billboard rankings of every album to hit the Billboard Top 200. The one drawback to this edition versus earlier editions is that it breaks each artist's albums into studio albums, greatest hits/compilations and live albums. It would be much easier to follow if it was in a straight chronological order.

Understandably oops!

First let me incorporate my objections and disappointments included in my review of the Top Pop Singles 1955-2010. They still stand.
I will add to them the understandable but ultra important omissions from this edition. The listing of the cuts and what LPs they are on is gone. An important research tool has left the building. I understand what the excessive size of the book would be by including them in succeeding editions but because of their importance there are two ways to fix it. One is to make the album books two volumes. The other is to come out with an updated Album Cuts book (2001) but include therein the LPs the songs are on. This would create some work but what else is Whitburn doing but editing and shrinking existing research with a few more years being added.
I am glad I didn't toss the previous edition that while out-of-date is so much more valueable as a research tool.

This is the most complete record keeping on albums I have found. Any information you might be looking for is in here, totally complete and a must have for any vinyl record collector.

About the Author
Dave Canterbury is the co-owner and supervising instructor at the Pathfinder School in southeast Ohio (named by USA Today as one of the Top 12 Survival Schools in the United States), and the managing editor of Self-Reliance Illustrated magazine. He is an army veteran, and currently a self-employed hunting guide and survival instructor. I think the Illustrations of traps could be better as well

This is the Third book in Dave Canterbury's, Bushcraft series. The book is well written, yet incorporates a number word for word paragraphs and information contained in his first two Bushcraft books. I think the Illustrations of traps could be better as well. Canterbury's Basic and Advanced Bushcraft Books were excellent. However illustrations of knots could also better as well, in these earlier books.

A fantastic book with lots of ideas on cooking methods with tons of recipes, great color pictures on edible plants, many trapping methods, and how to catch frogs. My husband wants to try out the trapping ideas! A "must have" survival book!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought I saw the girl shudder, though she was trying hard to hide it.

“Just once though,” said R.J. She ran her red tongue over her lips to clear away the ice cream. “And you’d have to do something for me.”

“What—what’s that?” squeaked the girl.

R.J. leaned in close to whisper something in the girl’s ear. I watched her eyes widen and dart to me.

Super hot frolic with a charming and heartwarming outcome!

Well, the possibly unique team of R.J. and the nameless newbie are on the hunt again. Hunting for ghosts, of course. This outfit of dauntless ghost hunters simply may become a truly classic duo. This is the second short story in the series and according to the list at the end of this book, Carnival Games is the second of three. However, when I read the first story, nine additional titles were listed. Ah, a mystery within a mystery. However, it is Carnival Games that should be my focus and allow me to say, this was another delightfully super hot frolic with an incredibly charming and heartwarming outcome for the team's primary focus. Thumbs up!

R.J. is a very active participant, coordinator, and entertaining leader this time round. The nameless newbie cannot ascertain, as yet, how R.J. knows where and when their next ghost hunting escapade will take place. I cannot either, but I am hopeful that somewhere along this series, this rollicking conundrum of R.J.'s almost mystical capabilities will be revealed. In the meantime, she leads her crew of two to a carnival, where they get a gig working the 'clown game'. R.J. is currently expanding her initials to be short for Raaven Jade. These imaginative names that R.J. creates could be expanded into a marvelous running gag within the series. However, only time will tell if I have guessed correctly and I hope I have. R.J. is flat-out sensational!

The unsung associate currently doesn't feel as special in R.J.'s eyes as when they first met in book one. R.J. will call her cupcake in a bit of an affectionate manner, grasshopper in her tutorial mode, or jackrabbit as if she were simply a sidekick. Oh my. She nevertheless is a gamer and when the real action seems to finally take off, she is hot on the heels of R.J. and ready for action. She is, however, still a bit confused. She wants to learn like right away! R.J. is certainly not a traditional instructor. Some of the interaction between R.J. and the lovely nameless newbie is almost like a kind of a risqué comedy routine, which I found especially enjoyable. One thing is consistent. Things can and do get really hot, really fast!

This Lesbian Ghost Hunter operation certainly does not lack for steamy and juiced stuff which is oh so devilishly stimulating. I needed my tall and cool, icy drink to stay focused until the extraordinary and touching conclusion that positively brought a tearful, but joyous sensation within my being. That was unexpectedly beautiful. I really look forward to the balance of the series. For now, I recommend this short story. It is a winner!

The book is divided into two main sections, each with the same 15 pieces. The repertoire includes: Malagueña Soleares Jota Tientos Gypsy Rumba Flamenco Rumba Fandango Zapateado Farucca Granadinas Media Granadinas Tango Soleares Tarantas Albacinatas The first section is entirely in music notation format and is fully notated as to fingering, strumming and special techniques. Section two is identical to section one, with each piece engraved using both tablature and music notation. The music ranges in technical level from beginning – for example Jota and Fandango, to intermediate pieces such as Farruca and Granadinas, to more advanced pieces such as Tango and Tarrantas.

About the Author
Jeffrey Goodman is an award winning composer, classical guitarist and teacher currently living in Los Angeles, California. Upon its release, his “Hands of the Angels” CD of original guitar compositions was rated as the #1 Top CD on "PayPlay.fm" in the classical-programmatic genre. He is the author of A Beginner’s Guide to the Classical Guitar, of which one online reviewer wrote, “Mr. Goodman has created the ultimate introduction to the classical guitar.” Among his compositions are Sextet for Winds and Strings, a Song Cycle for Soprano and Tenor, String Quartet #1 and numerous works for classical guitar. He has also composed and performed music for radio and feature films. He taught classical guitar for many years at the University of California at Los Angeles, and during 2009 was a guest professor of music at Santa Monica College. He received his Master of Arts degree from Occidental College, where he studied composition and theory with Richard Grayson and Robert Gross. His guitar studies were with Theodore Norman. As a performer he has performed at colleges and universities throughout the United States, and his European tours have included appearances at the American Embassy in Vienna, the Vienna Conservatory, and the Salzburg music festival. Recitals in Wales and England included a solo recital of 20th Century works for B.B.C. Radio.

still it is hard to find flamenco tabs and there are some really good ones here that I have not seen elsewhere

As thick as this book is, it should be spiral bound, to learn some of the longer pieces I had to write them out....still it is hard to find flamenco tabs and there are some really good ones here that I have not seen elsewhere.
